Warlingham: The Four Churches Walk (Day Hike)

Updated: May 16, 2023

Length: 11.25km

This circular walk starts at All Saints Warlingham, which dates from 1250AD. The 4 acre churchyard is managed as a wildlife conservation area, and contains over 200 trees, one yew being rumoured to predate Christianity! Second on the route is St Mary's, Farleigh, a Grade 1 listed - and very picturesque - building from the 11th century. Next comes St Leonard's, Chelsham, a 13th century church largely rebuilt in the 19th century: built to serve local farms, it still sits in farmland. And finally comes St Christopher's Warlingham, an attractive wooden building built in 1907.

Directions for the full walk are available here

Getting there: The 409 bus will take you to Warlingham Green, which is only a short walk from the beginning of the trail.
