Westerham: Chartwell

Chartwell was the family home of Sir Winston Churchill, and has plenty to see in the house and gardens. There's a walled garden, rose garden, and woodland with a walk around the lakes, alongside the usual National Trust cafe. There's often something on for kids in the holidays.

Getting there: Take the train to Lingfield and catch the 236 bus, or head to Oxted station and jump in a taxi. It's slightly easier to get here by car.
